The Center City Development Corporation (CCDC) continues to with the grand vision for downtown San Diego. A plan that began in its embryotic stages in the late 1990's is getting closer to coming to fruition. The plan is for a grand esplanade along Harbor Drive that would be 1.2 miles in length and a quarter mile in width. Stretching along the waterfront, the vision plan includes trails for walking and jogging or relaxing in the grass. Southbound North Harbor Drive would have one lane eliminated to make room for the project.
Also included is a revitalization plan for the Broadway pier with new retail businesses and the addition of over 1,700 trees.
